I live in Finnish archipelago and have the possibility to see them quite often. And Whooper Swan is actually the national bird of Finland. This one again, I think, is a Mute Swan. And this we happened to meet in Gdansk, Poland, where we spent the weekend.
Hetken saa vielä odotella..

DeleteThis photo makes me feel really cold! : )
ReplyDeleteI suppose also the swan feels quite cold! :)
Deletethis is a fantastic shot, Sirpa! the swan looks beautiful on the clear ice - it almost seems like it's floating on the water at first glance!
ReplyDeleteYes, and it makes me wonder whether the swan had thought that it could end up floating when it landed there!
DeleteAwesome! She (or he) reads her ring!
ReplyDeleteLasse
Yes, probably she doesn't remember where she came from and she tries to check that! :D
ReplyDeleteDo you often see swans where you live? It is a lovely creature!

DeleteI hope it's not stuck in the ice? Swans are beautiful creatures!
ReplyDeleteThat was the first thought in my mind also when I saw it! But I looked at it quite a long time and I think everything was ok with it.
DeleteGlad to know! :)
