I had to google this bird, because I didn't recognize the name. Brambling is järripeippo in Finnish, and it says that these are common in Finland but they normally don't spend the winter here, still some of them do. So this could be a correct answer. Interesting!
oh! I love that kind of bird so much! I have only seen it once, in Northern Finland - I think it's normally found in the very north during the summer time, so this one might be on its way to Southern Countries. anyways, it's a really beautiful bird! :-)
Ihana pallero!
ReplyDeleteKiitos, niin minustakin, jotenkin kuitenkin myös vähän reppanan oloinen.
DeleteMaybe it could be a Brambling if not a Sparrow?

ReplyDeleteMust be a hardy little bird!
DeleteFinnish looks such an interesting language - I can't begin to imagine how to pronounce brambling in Finnish : )
Haha, I would say that just like it is written, but I think it doesn't help you very much! :D
DeleteA beautiful but antisocial bird. A funny picture anyway.

Yes, may be just a hermit character!

ReplyDeleteSo you think Sian's suggestion järripeippo is correct?
DeleteMy friend, who knows birds, told me now that this is Common Redpoll, which is urpiainen in Finnish.
